WGM Support Plan
Some people are called by the Lord to serve on a mission field. Others are called to support those on the field through prayer and financial support. Before missionaries can leave for the field, they must enlist ministry partners who will commit to supporting their ministry on a regular basis. Recurring financial gifts through WGM help with the following provisions:
- Salary
This covers the cost of food, clothing, and other personal needs, including educational loans.
- Field Fund
The Field Fund helps with the cost of housing and utilities; travel on the field; station upkeep and work; field conferences, administration, and audits; and distribution of The Call, WGM’s quarterly magazine.
- Retirement
This covers living expenses during the sunset years.
- Support Ministries
Funds for Support Ministries help cover the cost of services provided at WGM headquarters, including the receipting and forwarding of funds to the field, assisting with the development of the missionary’s ministry team, and the recruiting of volunteers and new missionaries.
- Medical
This covers the cost of medical care and life insurance for the missionaries and their families.
- Ministry Team Development
Funds for Ministry Team Development cover the expenses of homeland ministry assignment, when missionaries visit current ministry partners and enlist new team members.
- Contingency Fund
This helps meet the cost of any emergencies.
*The additional expenses of new missionaries moving to the field for the first time, the need for a ministry vehicle or other supplies, shipping costs, and language study are raised in addition to this support plan before missionaries leave for the field.
