How do I let WGM know what my donation is for?
The best way to indicate how you want your gift used is to include the response document at the bottom of your last gift receipt. If you do not have a response card, simply write where you want your gift to go on the memo line of your check. If you are giving online, you will be giving through a donation form set up specifically for the missionary, volunteer, ministry, project, or location you chose. Following your online gift, you will receive an e-mail receipt verifying the gift went to the correct account.

We are a church. What should we do?
As a church, you don’t have to worry about qualifying for a tax deduction. However, using a response card or writing your desires on the memo line of your check are still helpful as we enter your gift.

How secure is giving through WGM?
WGM employs industry standard security features to protect your personal information, both online and on-site. Online giving is processed by Blackbaud Merchant Services, a complete end-to-end payment processing service designed to make credit card processing simple, secure, and affordable for nonprofit organizations. On-site, your information is stored on secure servers with only authorized personnel having access to your data. Backup tapes are held in a safe to avoid loss or theft.
WGM is also a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (www.ecfa.org). Founded in 1979, ECFA is comprised of nearly 900 charitable, religious, and educational organizations that qualify for tax-exempt, nonprofit status. As an accreditation agency, ECFA is dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™, which focus on board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fundraising, and proper use of charity resources.

What documentation will I receive for my taxes?
You can receive receipts for your gifts either after each gift or at the end of the year (by request only). This statement will be mailed to you and will meet all IRS requirements for applicable tax deductions. If your gift is intended for the personal use of a missionary (i.e., a birthday or Christmas gift) or you requested one of our resources with your gift, the receipt will show the portion of your gift that is not tax-deductible.
