Opportunities
Teachers are needed to teach a variety of subjects and grades at Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center in Bolivia. SCCLC is a private day school presently ministering to about 150 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The school seeks to graduate students who are spiritually and academically prepared to impact the world for Christ. In addition to one-on-one interaction with students in the classroom, teachers minister through chapels, Bible studies, youth group, camps, and retreats. They also have a unique opportunity to minister to non-Christian students and their families.
Qualifications
It is preferred that applicants have a college degree in education and a current state teaching certificate and/or an Association of Christian Schools International certification. Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Language Requirements
Applicants do not need to speak Spanish, but it is helpful when communicating with students and parents.
Length of Service
- Long-term: two or more years
- Mid-term: one month to a year
Ministry Description
Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center was founded in 1977 to provide a quality education in English and with a Christian orientation primarily for missionary children. The student body has changed from having a majority of MKs to now being 70 percent Bolivian. This provides an increased opportunity for outreach. Today, SCCLC serves Bolivia and the nations by providing a comprehensive, multilingual Christian education that meets and exceeds national and international academic standards and prepares students spiritually, academically, and socially to transform their world.
Quick Facts
SCCLC is located on a six-acre campus in Santa Cruz. The campus includes nearly 20 classrooms, modern computer and science labs, a library, a chapel, and a large multipurpose building. It also has playgrounds, an outdoor basketball court, and a soccer field.
SCCLC has been associated with ACSI since 1984 and was accredited by ACSI in 1994. The school is an official testing center for the PSAT and ACT college entrance exams.
