Ministry Description

A brand-new creative mentoring center is being opened in Guatemala City and will welcome missionary volunteers to help with the running of the center from January 2021.

The center will have a focus on creative art, radio, and music, with the hope of extending the work to include a business area to train young people to join the local full-time workforce as well as create new small business opportunities.

The new mentoring center is based in a very safe area of Guatemala City, near to shops and transport links, and a police station is across the road. Applicants will have to rent their own local accommodation and provide their own transport. Single people could be housed temporarily in the Center or Protection Home.

This is a very exciting opportunity for anyone who loves working with young people and has gifting in music, art, radio, dance, or the setting up of small businesses. They can come and share their faith through the creative arts and explore how the center can reach more teens at risk. There is space to develop a coffee-shop and indoor climbing wall and gym. Furthermore, we are planning on creating an urban garden on the site to showcase vertical gardening to support vulnerable families.

  • The program is well developed and includes street outreach, prevention work, a specialist mentoring program and a day center where children and youth can come for homework help, support, and counselling
