Middle East: School Guidance Counselor
Opportunities
Do you have a passion for missionary kids and other third culture kids (children who have spent a significant number of developmental years in a culture different from their parents’ culture)? A guidance counselor is needed at a Christian international school in the Middle East, to assist these children in processing their cross-cultural lives and educational experiences.
Qualifications
It is preferred that applicants have a degree in clinical counseling and the ability to work with the special needs of teens and children through a variety of techniques. Applicants should have a strong biblical foundation with a vibrant and growing relationship with Christ and an active prayer life.
Language Requirements
Must be fluent in English. Ability in other languages is helpful but not required since work will be with a variety of students from around the world.
Training Provided
If schedules allow, shadow the previous counselor.
Location
Middle East (inquire for specific location)
Length of Service
- Mid-term: 10 months (one full school year)
- Long-term: two or more years

This job and ministry is unique in that you will be working with such a wide variety of cultures. Growing up and being a teenager is hard enough in your home country, but when living cross culturally it can become overwhelming and at times confusing. This ministry provides students with a safe place to process their identities and struggles, as well as celebrate their uniqueness and gifts!
