As we celebrate the milestone 60th birthday of our dear friend Russ White, we have a unique opportunity to support his life's work in a truly meaningful way. In recognition of his unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need and his quarter-century of leadership at Tenwek Hospital, a group of his friends and family are launching this campaign to raise the $350,000 needed to reach the goal of $500K by May 1 for the current Matching Gift Opportunity announced last month.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of the thousands of patients in sub-Saharan Africa who will be served at this state-of-the-art cardiothoracic center scheduled to open in September!
A cardiac catheterization lab and start-up costs for opening the center are the primary goals of this campaign.

Tenwek Hospital is currently building a new cardiothoracic center. This will be the largest such center in Sub-Saharan Africa and will meet the needs of thousands of patients per year. We expect construction to be completed in February 2024, and all funds for construction have been raised.
We now need to equip this large facility for all the needs of a complete open-heart surgical center, cardiac catheterization lab, and an esophageal cancer center. All funds raised through the Tenwek Cardiothoracic Equipment Fund will go toward providing the highly specialized equipment and start-up costs needed for the Tenwek Hospital Cardiothoracic Center.
