Join us as we begin this journey of faithfully praying over the emerging generation and asking God to stir their hearts.

Connor Owen: Welcome to the Approach. This is one of our prayer habit episodes where we pray over the topic we’ve been learning about. If you haven’t listened to part 1 of the Great Opportunity , I’d encourage you to jump back and listen to that, and then come back and join us for part 2.
We want to begin with a prayer of preparation, so that we can prepare our hearts and minds to hear what God has to say. And we're going to turn to Mark 10. Bartimaeus needed a big answer from God, and in the same way, we want a big answer from God as we think about this great opportunity with Gen Z. And we recognize that we need His mercy and grace. After I say this prayer, I'm going to give you some space, and you can reflect, you can pause, you can sit in silence, or you can repeat the prayer yourself.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.
Now that you’ve calmed yourself and you’ve removed distractions and you’re fully present with God, ask Him to give you the name of the Gen Z'er that He wants you to pour into, or you can pray over the next generation person who's already in your life.
What does God want you to help your Gen Z'er with? Are they struggling with anxiety? Is it where they find their identity? Or maybe they have a big decision coming up. Ask Him to reveal how He wants you to pray for them.
Now that we know who we’re praying for and what God is wanting to do in their lives, let’s say this prayer over them. And after each line, I'll give you some space, so you can repeat after me.
God I approach you in prayer, and I bring my Gen Z'er before you. Do a work in and through them, and use me to help you do that work.
We're going to end with our vision verse from Psalm 78. I have some help today from my son, Silas.
We will not hide these truths from our children. We will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. So the next generation might know them—even children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children.
Silas: So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands. Psalm 78.
