Glenda Moon

In her initial application to be a missionary with WGM, Glenda Moon wrote, “I really felt the Lord calling me into Christian service but did not know what exactly. When He brought Don and me together, I realized that Don’s call was also my call, and we would serve the Lord together.” That’s exactly what Don and Glenda did for the next thirty-eight years—they served the Lord together.
In 1979, Don and Glenda married while attending Vennard College. They both graduated from Vennard College in 1980 with a BA in Bible, Glenda with a minor in general education and Don with a minor in missions. They applied to be missionaries with WGM in 1984 and were appointed to Argentina later that year.
While in language school, Glenda’s teachers noted that she was an excellent student who put a lot of effort into her studies. That attitude was one that she carried with her into her missions outreach. Her sweet and gentle spirit touched many lives as she shared God’s love through her various ministries, including those at the local church, community center, and missionary training school.
Don and Glenda served in Argentina for twenty-seven years, until they returned to the U.S. in 2003 to serve at WGM headquarters. God called them back to Argentina in 2009, this time to train other missionaries. After nine years of serving in these training roles, God called the Moons to minister to missionaries in Latin America, supporting them through visits, counseling, coaching, and helping form connections to other organizations. They also frequently welcomed missionaries into their home for rest and renewal, an area Glenda was particularly gifted in.
The Moons had four daughters: Elizabeth, Erica (who preceded Glenda in death), Emily, and Elicia. Family was extremely important to Glenda, and she loved spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. On April 15, 2022, Glenda went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She is now reunited with her daughter, Erica, and enjoying the presence of the God she devoted her life to serving and sharing with others.
