Our journey to medical missions has been shaped by God's faithfulness and His call to serve where the need is greatest. As a family, we have experienced His guidance through every season—from our education and professional training to our years of ministry and service in Ethiopia and Kenya. Throughout this journey, the Lord has continued to deepen our conviction that medicine is not only a profession but also a ministry through which His compassion and the hope of the Gospel can be shared.

During my Family Medicine residency at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya, I had the privilege of training in a Christ-centered mission hospital where compassionate healthcare and discipleship were inseparable. Serving alongside Christian healthcare professionals from around the world strengthened my desire to use medicine as a means of demonstrating the love of Christ while equipping others to do the same. My wife, Netsanet, an Electrical and Computer Engineer, has faithfully shared this calling, and together we have committed our family to wherever God leads.

God has now opened the door for us to serve as Global Workers with World Gospel Mission in Burundi. Our vision is to strengthen healthcare by providing compassionate, high-quality medical care while investing in the training and mentoring of future healthcare professionals. We also desire to partner with the local church in making disciples, encouraging believers, and sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. We believe that caring for people means ministering to the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and that lasting transformation is found in Christ alone.

As we begin this new chapter, we recognize that we cannot fulfill this calling by ourselves. God has always accomplished His mission through His people, and we are trusting Him to raise up faithful partners who will pray, encourage, and give so that together we can participate in His work in Burundi. We count it a privilege to answer His call and look forward to seeing how He will use this ministry to bring healing, hope, and the love of Christ to many lives.
