Mark and Serena Dunbar

Mark grew up as a missionary kid in Honduras. At a young age he came to know Christ and committed to serve Him. While working as a CPA for a couple of years, he was called to serve full-time as a missionary.

Serena accepted the Lord during Vacation Bible School at the age of 5. In high school she was exposed to missions and was sanctified. After marrying Mark, who also had a call to the mission field, they worked at WGM’s headquarters in Marion, Indiana until Serena finished her degree in education.

In 1989, they headed to Honduras where they served twenty-three years and raised their three children. In 2013, they moved to Mexico and served there until 2025 when they relocated to the States while still serving in Mexico and Latin America.

In the past several years, Mark has been working alongside WORK4aLIVING as a means of empowering the Latin-American churches with a vision and strategy to build bridges to their communities with spiritual, business, and financial principles.

Currently, Serena serves as the Area Team Leader of Mexico, Assistant Regional Director of the Americas for World Gospel Mission, teaches Bible studies, is the mother of three, and the grandmother of three.

The Dunbar’s theme verse is 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” Their greatest joy is seeing others grow in Jesus.
