Ken Mosonik and Julia Spriegel

Since 2023, I, Julia, have served as a cardiac nurse at Tenwek Hospital, providing Christ-centered care to patients and their families. It is a privilege to witness God transform lives. Beyond the hospital, I participate in Rheumatic Heart Disease screenings, helping provide early intervention and preventive education that saves lives. I also direct Bible Quizzing, where more than 500 students each year are memorizing Scripture and learning to share their faith. In addition, I provide administrative support to Peris Rotich, Director of Tabitha Women’s Ministry, a network of about 300 Bible study groups discipling women in western Kenya.

In 2024, I met Ken at my neighbor’s house at Tenwek. Our friendship developed to the point of becoming engaged in March 2026. Ken, having had training and experience in project management, he helps run the RHD program. His work focuses on preventing and reducing the impact of RHD among children and young people through school and community-based echocardiographic screening, health education, early diagnosis, and linkage to treatment and long-term care. The program works closely with local health facilities, schools, churches and communities, to identify children with RHD before they progress to advanced heart disease.

We are excited to serve with World Gospel Mission at Tenwek helping lives be transformed by God physically and spiritually. Whether through nursing, discipleship, or community outreach, our passion is to see lives transformed by the Gospel. We are grateful for God’s call to Kenya and remain committed to serving Him wherever He leads us.
