Anneliese Zonio

I am a junior at Asbury University studying Social Work and Adventure Education and Leadership. I am passionate about caring for people whose voices are not heard. I long to create relationships with people that show them their dignity as bearers of Christ’s image.

I am interning with the Least of These in Nairobi, Kenya this summer to do just that. I hope to meet people and give them resources to help give basic needs of healthcare, education, and food to children and teen girls, reminding them of the importance they have as humans. I will learn what social work looks like as missions and in an international context.

This is not only an experience that will help me in my career, but is exactly where Jesus has been leading me. I have always loved working with children and youth and have felt a call to work with The Least of These Organization the moment I heard about them. I hope this is a time of discernment of missions and cross-cultural work for my future career.

I am excited to take this step of faith to join in the work God is doing in Kenya and learn from the people I meet!
