Gary grew up in Greenwich, Ohio, in a non-Christian household. Though he resisted faith for years, a Thanksgiving dinner in 2002 led him to finally commit to Christ. This decision transformed him, and he eventually felt called to full-time ministry. Gary’s journey included attending family camp, where he experienced sanctification and set out on the path to missionary work. His dedication to service deepened as he studied at Vennard College and prepared for missions.

Laura’s path to faith took root in 1988 when she recognized her need for a deeper relationship with God. Despite years of attending church, she hadn’t fully surrendered until she felt God’s call to let go of everything, including her time. With her commitment secured, Laura supported Gary’s call to missions. Together, they felt God’s direction toward Honduras, where they would serve at the El Sembrador school, helping young people break the cycle of poverty and equipping them with skills and faith.

Their work in Honduras held deep meaning for them both. Gary embraced the challenge of learning the language and becoming part of the local community. His proudest moments came when locals recognized his fluency, reflecting his commitment to understanding their culture. He found fulfillment as the people he served took ownership of their faith and community. Meanwhile, Laura, a nurse, provided compassionate care to elderly, low-income individuals, sharing God’s love with her clients. Her work as a case manager opened many doors for ministry, which brought hope to people facing difficult circumstances.

In retirement, Gary and Laura plan to continue serving, with Gary pursuing automotive work as a new ministry avenue. They see this as a continuation of their calling, not an end. The legacy they leave in Honduras and beyond is one of faith, humility, and dedication, exemplifying wholehearted service to God.
