David and Cathlene Strong

David Strong’s journey with World Gospel Mission began in 1958 when, at just 15 months old, his family moved to Kenya as missionaries. Cathlene’s introduction to missions came at age 16 during her family’s first missions' trip to Honduras—a passion that would shape her future.
The two met at Vennard College and married in 1977. Cathlene joined WGM first, starting in 1986 at headquarters in Marion, Indiana. A few years later, both David and Cathlene felt called to full-time missionary service and were officially appointed in 1990 to serve in Bolivia. There, they worked in the field office and with the Wings of Peace aviation ministry before helping to launch WGM’s ministry in Peru, working in partnership with local churches.
Today, David and Cathlene continue to serve faithfully on Special Assignment at WGM Headquarters in Marion. They remain dedicated to WGM’s mission, helping to equip and engage Christlike disciples in transforming the world.
