Lydia Lu
Hi, my name is Lydia! I love driving stick-shift, leading worship for InterVarsity, eating really delicious food, and above all, I love Jesus! It is my hope to share my love for Jesus globally and to serve as a medical missionary during my gap year before medical school.
As an undergraduate student at Northeastern University pursuing biology and math, I have witnessed the way God uses science to reveal His omniscience, His intentionality, and His beauty. Through my studies, I have grown passionate about bridging the gap between science and faith through medicine, a tangible and meaningful way to care for God's people.
Throughout my college career, God has continuously grown my empathy for both the sick and the marginalized communities. He has granted me numerous opportunities to serve the homeless population of Boston, care for patients after surgery, and deepen my own understanding of His creation through research. This work has been incredibly fulfilling, yet I have always felt a strong tug on my heart to bring both my compassion and my love for medicine to the mission field. With the help of WGM, I hope to turn this calling into a reality!
