Eastern U.S. Mobilizer

Job Title: Mobilizer

Supervision: Director of Mobilization

Job Purpose & Summary: The purpose of the mobilizer in the Eastern U.S. is to inspire, educate, and activate God’s people into their specific and important role in the Great Commission. The mobilizer will also build relationships with individuals in the region who have a desire and calling to be a part of what God is doing around the world through cross-cultural missions. Once these individuals are identified, the mobilizer will then nurture and coach them, helping them discern their role in the Great Commission as a whole and specifically with World Gospel Mission. Ultimately, the mobilizer will identify and activate called individuals to serve as mid-term or long-term missionaries for WGM. 

Location: Eastern U.S., work from home and WGM headquarters in Marion, Indiana

Main Responsibilities:

    1. Represent WGM regionally at churches, camp meetings, colleges, seminaries, conferences, and homes in order to identify and engage individuals/leads in the programs offered by WGM. Representation includes:
      1. Transportation, assembly, and disassembly of recruiting display and materials.
      2. Service at WGM booth during conferences, campus visits, etc. 
      3. Speaking and teaching as opportunities are available. 
      4. Travel by car or plane. 
    2. Proactively inspire and educate God’s people helping them to understand they have a role to play in cross-cultural missions. This includes, but is not limited to: 
      1. Telling good stories and speaking in churches, schools, and other settings. 
      2. Providing missions education opportunities. 
      3. Encouraging believers in their journey towards a greater missions commitment. 
    3. Proactively discover leads/individuals interested in serving in cross-cultural missions. This includes, but is not limited to: 
      1. Seeking out gatekeepers and influencers in communities, churches, colleges, small groups, etc. to help identify potential leads.
      2. Being proactive in creating and implementing lead-generating events, programs, and opportunities within the region.
      3. Using digital means such as social media, Zoom, Teams, and other digital platforms to engage with and mobilize individuals.
    4. Engage with local churches (WGM-affiliated and non-WGM-affiliated), developing a relationship with the goal of identifying ways to do missions together.
    5. Follow-up with contacts made of those interested in missions service. This includes: 
      1. Timely responses to people inquiring about service with WGM.
      2. Maintaining an active, discipling relationship with leads.
      3. Connecting with leads by phone calls, text, video conferences, emails, personal visits.
      4. Maintaining a database of leads and accurately recording follow ups and interactions with them.
      5. Conducting interviews with leads, assessing their spiritual maturity and determining if and when they are ready for service with WGM.
      6. Identifying appropriate WGM programs to mobilize leads and connecting them with the appropriate program coordinators at the proper time.
    6. Keep informed of ministry opportunities with WGM and understand WGM’s ministries around the world.
    7. Meet regularly with supervisor for informative dialogue and effective supervision. 
    8. Attend departmental meetings by video conference and in person in order to assess program needs, status of participants, as well as verify that effective flow of communication is occurring within the department. 
    9. Assist in the development and creation of new mobilization resources and materials. 
    10. Cross-train for other positions in the Mobilization department, as requested by supervisor, in order to ensure continuity of coverage. 
    11. Carry out other assignments as requested by supervisor.

Special Requirements:

      1. Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
      2. Good moral character.
      3. Good physical condition and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
      4. Should reflect WGM’s philosophical concept of human services which are motivated by a personal commitment to Christian service.
      5. Experience in cross-cultural ministry and/or missions service.

Qualifications:

      1. A burden for the Gospel, the Great Commission, and the mobilization of missionaries.
      2. Self-motivation to work in a non-traditional, mobile-office setting.
      3. Availability for extensive travel and non-traditional office hours. 
      4. Excellent public relations skills, both one-on-one and in public speaking situations. 
      5. Quality digital, writing, and communication skills.
      6. Must live within 100 miles of an airport in the represented region. 
      7. Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
