Job Title: Operations Assistant
Supervision: Director of the Asbury Student Involvement Center
Job Purpose & Summary: The purpose of this role is to assist in overseeing the operations of the WGM Student Involvement Center to run effectively and efficiently and help students discover their role in the Great Commission.
Location: WGM Center at Asbury University in Wilmore, KY
Employment Status: Part time
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Main Responsibilities:
1. Assist with overseeing the operations of the WGM Center. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Keep up with reservations for the guest rooms (made by supervisor or admin assistant) to clean/prepare the rooms for the next guests
- Administration, including the budgeting/keeping track of receipts from purchases made
- Caring for and creating inventory for the center's needs in tandem with admin assistant
- Coordinate/oversee the hospitality needs of the WGM Center. This includes keeping track of room reservations, preparing for overnight guests, cleaning, etc.
2. Assist with overseeing the Student Leadership Team with the supervision of Director as time allows. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Interaction with the student executive team in weekly meetings
- Mindful demonstration of servanthood to the student leadership team
3. Assist with Global Café providing spiritual interactions/discipleship with students. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordinate and prepare fellowship meals for Global Café
- Direct set up, tear down, and clean up responsibilities for Global Café and other WGM events
- Carry out other assignments as requested by supervisor.
Special Requirements
- Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Possess good moral character
- Be in good physical condition and have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Should reflect WGM’s philosophical concept of human services which are motivated by a personal commitment to Christian service
- Have experience in cross-cultural ministry and/or missions service
Qualifications
- A burden for the Gospel, the Great Commission, and the mobilization of missionaries
- Self-motivation to work in a non-traditional, mobile-office setting
- Availability for some travel and non-traditional office hours
- Excellent public relations skills, both one-on-one and in public speaking situations
- Quality digital, writing, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred, not required)
