World Gospel Mission (WGM), a global, interdenominational mission-sending agency headquartered in Marion, Indiana, invites a President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead WGM into its next chapter of kingdom impact. Rooted in a Wesleyan-Arminian theological heritage and driven by a vision to transform communities for Christ through wholistic ministry, WGM invites an experienced, spiritually-grounded, and visionary leader to guide a committed team of missionaries, staff, and global partners.

Main Responsibilities:
Spiritual & Visionary Leadership
- Model a vibrant relationship with Christ and cultivate a culture of prayer, holiness, and grace.
- Cast compelling, strategic vision in alignment with WGM’s mission and emerging realities of global missions.
- Foster a spiritually vibrant, emotionally healthy, and prayer-saturated organizational environment.
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the execution and development of strategic initiatives.
- Ensure operational continuity during significant leadership transitions, including upcoming retirements.
- Oversee a decentralized, field-oriented approach to missions with global awareness and missional innovation.
Board Relations & Governance
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors; support board development and policy implementation.
- Ensure organizational compliance, effectiveness, and strategic alignment with Board directives.
Team Development & Empowerment
- Lead, mentor, and empower a collaborative Executive Team; promote shared decision-making and healthy accountability.
- Strengthen internal communication, bridge HQ-field relationships, and promote generational trust-building.
Global Partnerships & Representation
- Represent WGM to churches, donors, global partners, and peer organizations.
- Cultivate a network of relationships across the global Christian community for resource-sharing and collaboration.
Fundraising & Financial Stewardship
- Lead fundraising strategy and donor cultivation; maintain organizational sustainability and explore innovative financial models.
- Maintain budgetary oversight and ensure responsible fiscal practices across the organization.

- Deep personal faith in Jesus Christ with a lifestyle of scriptural holiness.
- Theologically aligned with WGM’s Wesleyan-Arminian convictions.

Leadership Qualifications
- Proven executive leadership experience in a complex, international or faith-based nonprofit.
- Skilled in organizational change management, with sensitivity to emotional and operational dynamics.
- Visionary and strategic thinker, capable of leading bold initiatives while honoring legacy and continuity.
Field and Cultural Intelligence
- Strong cross-cultural competence and credibility with missionaries and global ministry partners.
- Experience living, working, or leading in international or cross-cultural ministry settings.
- Missional intelligence grounded in awareness of global trends and emerging strategies in missions.
Relational and Communication Strengths
- Relational leader who builds trust across geographical and generational divides.
- Strong communicator and public representative of WGM’s mission and values.
- Transparent and engaging communicator during times of transition or change.
Operational and Financial Acumen
- Demonstrated competence in financial management, sustainability strategies, and innovative resource development.
- Willingness to challenge outdated financial models and lead toward long-term fiscal health.
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Theology, Missiology, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
- Significant experience (preferably 10+ years) in Christian missions or international ministry leadership.
- Active membership in a local church aligned with WGM’s faith and mission.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience with decentralization, team-based ministry, and leadership succession.
- Familiarity with emerging mission trends (e.g., marketplace ministry, Business as Mission, micro-church movements).
- Experience leading through organizational restructuring or strategic reorientation.
