Prayer Guide: The Call 2023–2024

Our prayers are vital for the current state of missions, as well as the future. God listens and responds to the prayers of His faithful children. Romans 10:13–15 (NIV) describes all the people groups involved in missions—current missionaries, future missionaries, and those who need to hear His Good News:
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?
As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
As we pray together this year, let’s lift up each of these groups, asking God to move in their lives in unique and powerful ways.
NOVEMBER: Current missionaries
Pray for missionaries to have strong team units that encourage and support each other.
DECEMBER: Future missionaries
Ask God to call more children, youth, and young adults into missions.
JANUARY: People who haven’t made a decision to follow Christ
Pray for God to soften the hearts of those who are resisting His love and truth.
FEBRUARY: Current missionaries
Ask God to protect missionaries from spiritual attacks from the enemy.
MARCH: Future missionaries
Pray that experienced adults will be called into missions as a second career.
APRIL: People who haven’t made a decision to follow Christ
Pray over those who are curious about the Gospel but afraid to ask questions or learn more.
MAY: Current missionaries
Pray that missionaries will make time to abide in Jesus and be restored by His presence.
JUNE: Future missionaries
Pray that those serving on short- and mid-term trips will be called into longer missions service.
JULY: People who haven’t made a decision to follow Christ
Ask God to provide witnesses to those who are heartbroken, discouraged, and in need of the Good News.
AUGUST: Current missionaries
Pray for missionaries to be encouraged by seeing the fruits of their work.
SEPTEMBER: Future missionaries
Pray over those who are running from God’s call to missions, that they would have the courage to answer the call.
OCTOBER: People who haven’t made a decision to follow Christ
Ask God to send more workers to those without access to the Gospel.
