Unified Community

Ciudad Nueva is a suburb of Choluteca, Honduras, marked by deep social challenges. To complicate matters even further, the church in this region has been divided. In a community of approximately 20,000 inhabitants, with only 9 police officers assigned to patrol the area, there are 54 churches. Sadly, some pastors do not speak to one another because of doctrinal differences or other disagreements.

A community cannot experience true healing if the church is not healthy. In His priestly prayer, Jesus prayed, “that they may all be one, just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me” (John 17: 21 NKJV). Unity among God’s people is not optional; it is a testimony to the world.

Leslie and Osman have expressed that one of their callings is to contribute to the unity of the church. For a long time, they saw no clear way for this to happen. However, after a year of serving in Ciudad Nueva, God has raised up a team of about twenty-five volunteers, coming from about six local churches from different denominations. They are passionate about fulfilling the Great Commission and are willing to work together, choosing to set aside their differences for the sake of the Gospel.

Pray that this community continues to be drawn together to reflect the unified kingdom of Heaven and for the families in Choluteca, Honduras, as they seek to serve the Lord in one accord.

Hospitality Ministry

The Texas/Mexico Border Ministries team appealed to expand the Taylor Community Center ministry with a coffee shop, La Mesa. The Lord provided ministry partners who generously joined the project, and they have raised $10,000 to begin this ministry!

Pray that this new space will be a blessing of hospitality to the people of McAllen, Texas, and that God will move through the connections and relationships fostered through this new ministry.

Global Prayer Points for February

• Praise the Lord for many new believers in creative access countries! Please pray for strength and growth in their new faith as they face many obstacles and temptations to turn back. Lift up the missionaries serving them to be safe, healthy, and wise as they navigate ministry in these secure locations.
• Continue praying for prospective missionaries as they connect with our team after the Urbana conference in December. Invite the Lord to bless these new candidates with boldness and certainty as they navigate the call the Lord has placed on their life.
