Shelly McCollum

Shelly McCollum’s story begins in a small town where her childhood summers were spent attending Sunday School and youth group. Initially, these gatherings were simply a way to pass the time, but in 4th grade, everything changed when she accepted Christ into her life at a Pioneer Girls Club meeting. This decision marked the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith that would eventually lead her to WGM.
Shelly first joined the WGM finance team in what was meant to be a temporary position. However, that temporary role evolved into a part-time position, and eventually, Shelly found herself in a full-time role as part of the finance team. When a leadership transition occurred at WGM, Shelly stepped into the role of Vice President of Financial Services, a position she would hold for many years.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Shelly’s time at WGM was the opportunity to see the impact of her work on a global scale. Through her efforts, WGM was able to send more missionaries around the world, spreading the Gospel and making a difference in countless lives. Shelly’s contributions, though often behind the scenes, were vital to the success of the organization’s mission.
Throughout her years of service, Shelly learned invaluable lessons about faith, leadership, and perseverance. She often reflects on Esther 4:14, a verse that has been particularly significant to her: “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” This scripture has served as a reminder that even when faced with situations outside of her comfort zone, Shelly was exactly where she needed to be.
