From Student to Missionary: Jina’s Journey to Paraguay

I’m excited to introduce you to Jina—a young woman who started her missionary journey as a college student and recently committed to serving full-time as a missionary in Paraguay. Thanks to WGM’s student ministries, missionary training, and mobilization efforts, she discovered God’s call on her life and followed it step by step.

Connect 

As a student at Asbury University, Jina discovered missions through the WGM Student Center. She was discipled, given leadership opportunities, and inspired by visiting missionaries—igniting her heart for the nations.

Lead 

Jina served on the Asbury Student Center Leader Team. Eager to use her gifts and skills to help others, she was deeply involved in campus ministry and her faith community.

Serve

After hearing a missionary share at the Student Center, Jina discovered an opportunity to serve in Paraguay for three months—and sensed God’s call to go. It was her first cross-cultural ministry experience, and that was the trip that confirmed God’s calling on her heart.

Discern 

Returning home, Jina knew God was leading her to serve in Paraguay as a full-time missionary. Our team discipled and walked alongside her in discerning her next steps. Recognizing a spiritual family that shared her heart for prayer, holiness, and stewardship, Jina committed to pursue missions with WGM.

Train 

After graduating, Jina jumped into missionary training, where she was equipped for life and ministry on the field.

Prepare 

Jina committed to WGM’s accelerated fundraising challenge and reached full support in under 100 days. With courage and faith, she invited churches and partners to join the mission. In just 92 days, she was fully funded, a testimony to God’s provision and the power of a faithful ministry partnership team!

Go 

Fully trained and funded, Jina now serves in Paraguay as a WGM missionary. Her journey from college student to missionary was made possible thanks to missions-minded partners who have a heart to invest in the next generation of world changers.

What started as a college student exploring missions has become an undeniable calling to share the Gospel to the people God placed on Jina’s heart. And we're rejoicing with her—because the next chapter of her journey is just beginning.
