Presidential Introduction from the WGM Board of Directors

Presidential Introduction from the WGM Board of Directors

February 4, 2026   |   5 MINUTE READ
REV. DAVE ENGBRECHT, WORLD GOSPEL MISSION BOARD CHAIR

It is my privilege, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to introduce John Rinehimer, who has been elected unanimously to serve as the next President of World Gospel Mission starting on July 1.

John grew up in New Jersey and his journey with Christ began at age 17 when he fully surrendered to Jesus after hearing a message by Roy Lauter at Delanco Holiness Camp on entire sanctification—a decision that has shaped every step of his life. Since then, God has led him through seasons of pastoral ministry, cross-cultural missions, and leadership development, all rooted in the message of holiness that defines WGM’s heritage.

John and his wife, Erica, served as missionaries in Uganda, training indigenous church planters near the Sudanese border. Later, John served on the pastoral staff at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville and Community Christian Church in Chicago before returning to WGM in 2017 to join the executive leadership team. Most recently, he has served as Vice President of International Ministries and Mobilization. John is currently completing his PhD in Spiritual Formation and Leadership in Generation Z at the University of Manchester, England.

John is deeply committed to supporting and equipping a generation of missionaries who are theologically grounded, culturally agile, and Christ-centered. His vision reflects WGM’s calling to live out the Gospel with conviction and compassion in a rapidly changing world.

John and Erica live in Noblesville, Indiana, with their three children—Jackson, Caleb, and Ava.

As we step into this new season, I invite you to partner with WGM Board in prayer:

  • For John and Erica Rinehimer: Pray for wisdom, strength, and grace as they transition into this new leadership role and shepherd their family.
  • For World Gospel Mission: Pray for continued Spirit-empowered leadership, renewed vision, and boldness to equip and support missionaries who embody holy love and engage a rapidly changing world.

Together, let us “expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.”

In Christ,

Rev. Dave Engbrecht
World Gospel Mission Board Chair
