President’s Perspective
THE CALL: 2025–2026 | 1 MINUTE READ
DR. DAN SCHAFER, PRESIDENT
I’m so thankful I get the opportunity to share these stories with you. It’s a very special year, but in many ways, it’s similar to the last. Why? Because God moved in huge ways through World Gospel Mission— just as He has done every year for the last 115 years.
The last year has been filled with celebration and reflection for me, and I pray you’ve experienced it too. WGM celebrated its 115th anniversary in June, and I’ve witnessed people of all ages gather around the world to rejoice in the Lord’s faithfulness throughout our history.
There’s been a heightened sense of unity in our organization as we’ve come together to celebrate all that God has done. I praise God for your help in encouraging the WGM family this year!

You invested in many unique people around the world: from college students to retiree work teams. A team from Taylor University encountered the Lord’s presence while serving at a church in Paraguay last spring. One of the members has already started to pursue full-time ministry!
Our missionaries on the ground were held carefully in your prayers, too. They navigated ministry in environments where the Gospel isn’t welcome and praised God through isolating situations. Your support provided for them, giving them hope and turning their eyes back to their Provider.
As I reflect on this year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for those who have brought us here. I pray that you’ll celebrate with me for the thousands of new lives dedicated to Christ because of ministry supporters like you.
I challenge you to join me and seek how you can walk in obedience to the Lord. Ask the Lord what He has for you in this next season and how you can continue building the kingdom of God.
