Prayer Lifeline: August 2023

Prayer Lifeline: August 2023

Today we can come together as the body of Christ to lift up ministries, missionaries, those being served, and those who have yet to know Jesus. Will you join us in seeking the Father who is all powerful with these requests today?

Foster Children in Need

Southwest Ministries in Arizona has several foster children with specific needs. Will you pray for provision for them? The ministry location also helps serve aged out foster children who are no longer part of the foster program. Will you pray for their guidance and direction? The statistics on the future success of foster children in that area are staggering, but we know a God is powerful and who is not limited by the past. May God work in miraculous ways through these foster children!

School Ministries

As another school year begins, will you pray for the educational ministries in Honduras? They currently have three educational institutions: IETI Nursing high school, El Sembrador primary and high schools, and CEVTI vocational school. Each of these are amazing ministries with opportunities for students to see God at work and get to know Him. Ask God to walk with these students and teachers during the 2023–24 school year. Pray that they will know Him more deeply and experience the fruits of His Spirit!

Understanding the Bible

Eli Horn is a missionary serving at Chogoria Hospital in Kenya. He teaches the spiritual curriculum each week for the residents (including the surgical residents). The Family Medicine residents recently finished reading and discussing How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart. Will you pray for each of these students and Eli? Ask God to help these medical residents and doctors to better understand His will and His way as they serve those with physical needs.

Harvest Field Calling

One of the main ways missionaries are called is through short-term mission trips. These trips allow team members to experience what serving and ministering to others looks like on the field. Recently, a group of Asbury students who served in Paraguay expressed an interest in returning to minister, possibly for longer periods of time. Will you pray that God will make his direction clear to them and give them courage to answer His call?
