C3: Christian Community Center
The Bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 13 that the greatest thing we can show to others is the love of Jesus. The Christian Community Center is a place where aged out foster children find love, hope, and community.
The statistics are alarming:
- 800 young adults in Arizona ‘age out’ of foster care each year.
- 50% of foster age outs become homeless within 18 months.
- 60% of aged out young men will be convicted of a crime.
- 70% of aged out young women will become pregnant by 21.
Our mission is to meet the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of young adults aging out of foster care to help them successfully transition into independent living.
We collaborate with like-minded Christian organizations to provide:
Life skills training
- Each young adult has unique challenges they must overcome to successfully transition to adulthood. Our goal is to prepare them through providing educational opportunities, job skills training, financial literacy, and household management skills.
Counseling services
- We offer biblically based licensed counseling that helps participants work through trauma, hurt, conflict resolution, addictions, and more.
Housing
- Homelessness is a real issue for many who age out of foster care. Providing housing creates stability, which allows participants to focus on other needs that enable them to thrive.
Spiritual care
- We seek to share the love of Christ to all who come on campus through weekly worship, Bible studies, small groups, and mentors.
Community
- We pray that everyone that comes to our campus will feel like they are loved and belong. We live life together. Celebrating birthdays, holidays, and spontaneous meals are some ways we provide a sense of community.
