Texas/Mexico Border Ministries: The Coffee Ministry Project

The transformation of facilities and lives at Taylor Community Center continues!   

After completing a major renovation of our gym in 2022 and filling those spaces with beautiful ministry opportunities, God is challenging us to reach members of our community with the love of Christ in a new way! The gym complex is now being used all the time; however, the front building, the oldest part of our former school, needs renovation to become a useful and inviting place for effective ministry. 

We are dreaming of creating a welcoming space for meaningful conversations and community networking where relationships are deepened, individuals are refreshed, and God’s love and Word are shared!

Renovations are planned to open a new coffee ministry and gathering place at Taylor Community Center.  

Boys’ and girls’ school bathrooms will be modified to allow space for updated men’s and women’s restrooms, a laundry room, and a storage room. Central AC will be installed as well as a new storefront door and large, insulated windows. The small kitchen will be transformed into a coffee shop staging area and one former office will be opened to create space for the main entryway and a serving counter.   

We have an estimated budget of $100,000. 

As members of our community arrive for meetings, fellowship, conversations, relaxation, or just a cup of coffee, we will offer them refreshment for their body, but most importantly, for their soul and spirit. The Coffee Ministry will be a safe and inviting place to enjoy hot and cold drinks while serving as a catalyst for attracting people to our loving God. We will intentionally seek to build and deepen relationships that point to the source of abundant life, Jesus Christ.
