Texas/Mexico Border Ministries: Sports Ministry Personnel
Opportunities
- Do you love Jesus, children, and soccer? Taylor Community Center (TCC) offers quality training through the Soccer Lions Academy to children between the ages of four and twelve. Soccer coaches and assistants who have a heart for ministry and discipleship can make a tremendous impact.
- Men and youth gather to play soccer on our field. Soccer brings opportunities for competition, relationship building, and sharing the Gospel.
- Youth and adult basketball and volleyball teams, use the TCC gym weekly. There is great interest in both basketball and volleyball training in the Rio Grande Valley.

Qualifications
While not a requirement, it is preferred that applications are post-college and have a degree in sports ministry or experience playing/coaching a variety of sports at high school and college levels.
Language Requirements
A knowledge of Spanish is required for full time workers. Local and Online Language School options are available.
Training Provided
On-the-job-training about the specifics of the TCC Soccer Program is provided.

Ministry Description
Applicants for this job need to be passionate about sports and how sports can open the door for ministry to a variety of ages. They need to be organized and able to plan details for a sporting event and be willing to use sports as an opportunity to build relationships and teach biblical principles. They must also be willing to plan sporting events for a variety of age groups and be willing to work with children, youth, and adults in a variety of settings and sports. Relationship building is key to effective sports ministry on the Border.
