Papua New Guinea: Wholistic Ministries Facilitator
Opportunities
Most of Papua New Guinea’s population live in rural areas and live by hand-to-mouth farming. Almost 40% of the population live in poverty, and many people do not have consistent access to clean water. One in thirteen children die every year, mostly from preventable diseases.
On top of all these physical hardships, Papua New Guineans are held captive by traditional beliefs, animistic customs, and other evils. They see it, and they want change. They look to their leaders, politicians, education and many other things to improve their communities, but what they really need is Jesus. He is the only one who can truly transform people, families, and communities—physically and spiritually. The church has such an opportunity to bring freedom and wholeness to their communities.

Ministry Description
As a wholistic ministries facilitator, you would be working with the churches of the Christian Union Church (CUC) and their communities. You would need to build and disciple your team of trainers who would go into their local church communities to equip them to transform their communities by applying God’s truth to all aspects of their lives. As the church learns and changes, they also then reach out to serve their communities by showing the love of Jesus through helping bring basic life skills, which can empower their villages to rise out of poverty.
You would also help your leaders give training in communities, covering topics such as preventing illnesses, hygiene and first aid, wholistic worldview, economic development, and many more. You would be using Truth Centered Transformation (TCT) and Community Health Evangelism (CHE) in this work.
