Kenya: Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (Tenwek)
Opportunity
The Community Health and Development department at Tenwek Hospital needs expertise in monitoring and evaluating their numerous outreach projects. In particular, they need someone to engage churches in health and development activities. This position will help TCH&D work smarter through thoughtful analysis about what has worked well or worked poorly on past projects. And it will help TCH&D work better by emphasizing the involvement of churches in their health and development projects. TCH&D is almost fully-nationalized, using a Kenyan development strategy rather than bringing in a Western strategy.

Responsibilities
- Monitoring and evaluating projects by TCH&D
- Creating reports for donors
- Training TCH&D staff in principles of monitoring and evaluation
- Specific outreach to churches regarding their involvement with community health and development.
Special Requirements
Applicants should have training and experience in monitoring and evaluation. A bachelor’s degree is required, but a master’s is preferred. Applicants should also have a strong Christian commitment and a belief that the church plays an essential role in development.
Training
On-the-job training and supervision by TCH&D leadership will be provided.
Length of Service
- Mid-term: 1–2 years
- Long-term: 2 or more years
