Taiwan: Teaching at Morrison Academy

Morrison Academy is an international Christian school in Taiwan with campuses in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. It was established in 1952 to educate students in a distinctively Christian environment with a quality American education. Instruction is in English and is college preparatory in focus. Its dynamic learning environment paired with caring educators prepares students to be effective learners, moral and ethical citizens, and lifelong learners. It is the school's goal to equip the whole student, helping them to acquire the knowledge, discernment, and ability to dynamically impact the world. Morrison Academy is jointly accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Morrison Academy is usually hiring staff between late October and early January for the next school year. This opportunity is a partial Market Place Worker opportunity; WGM would be the sending agency, and Morrison would be the receiving agency. Staff would receive a salary from Morrison, but some of the funds would need to be raised for WGM.

  • Demonstrate a continuing sense of God's direction in working at Morrison Academy.
  • Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree. A master's degree or evidence of working toward it is preferred.
  • Hold a valid teaching certificate for the subject and grade level to be taught. This certificate must be issued by an authorized agency in the teacher's home country and/or from the Association of Christian Schools International.
  • Have completed sufficient college course work in their major teaching field.
  • Show recent evidence of professional growth.
  • Agree to abide by decisions of the board and administration of Morrison Academy.
  • Give evidence of previous positive teaching experience.
  • Previous international travel and/or teaching experience are preferred.

  • There will be a teacher orientation week before school begins, as well as a teacher prep week.
  • Professional learning coaches are provided to give training opportunities and assist teachers in implementing revised curriculum. This may include, but will not be limited to, workshops, study groups, videos, consultants, grade-level observations, and consultations.
