Young people under 25 make up about 60% of the population in Papua New Guinea. There are kids and youth everywhere you go! They are searching for more, as their lives are often without hope. They are stuck and held captive in cultural darkness that consumes their lives. They are hungry for more!
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a minimum of an associate’s degree from a Bible college or university, preferably in youth work or education.
- Applicants also need to love working with and spending time with youth, including playing sports and teaching biblically based lessons.
- Hands-on skills and an adventurous spirit are very beneficial.
Location
Highlands of Papua New Guinea—Western Highlands Province or Southern Highlands Province
Length of Service
- Mid-term: one to twenty-four months
- Long-term: two or more years
Ministry Description
The Christian Union Church (CUC) in Papua New Guinea has over 120 churches in 7 provinces. You would come alongside CUC and help them develop their youth programs to disciple the upcoming generation of leaders. You would also be involved in youth ministry in your local area which will include evangelism, building relationships, holding/planning special services and camps, as well as discipling youth and training them to help you in ministry.
