Ministry Description

Founded through WGM in 1980, the Bolivia Evangelical University is now one of the most vital Christian institutions of higher learning in South America, graduating hundreds of students each year to serve God in many different professions throughout Bolivia and beyond! BEU provides a wide variety of ministry opportunities to both missionaries and to students.

In addition to those highlighted here under “Featured Ministry Opportunities” there are also other programs at BEU through which to serve in Bolivia, such as music, nursing, nutrition, veterinary, psychology and electronics.

BEU was founded in 1980 by WGM missionary Meredythe Scheflen. It is the first private university in Bolivia and the first evangelical university in Spanish-speaking South America. The main ministry of BEU is to reach the youth of Bolivia for Christ through higher education and to influence Bolivia and other countries through its students and graduates. BEU strives to become a health research center in South America.
