Bolivia: Medical Professor at Bolivian Evangelical University

Opportunities

Bolivian Evangelical University is looking for medical personnel who will strengthen its School of Medicine to attain excellence by applying the university’s pedagogical model. The school seeks those who will visit and work on campus in the medical field, training professionals for the workplace and equipping them with Christian values and ethical principles. (Please note: it may not be possible for medical personnel to practice medicine in Bolivia, but they are welcome to teach and help do research at BEU.)

Qualifications

BEU seeks professionals who can correctly diagnose and present sound solutions for health issues, properly use and apply technology in diagnosing and treating illness, and apply innovative practices based on research to health problems in the areas of clinical surgeries, epidemiology, and public health.

Professional Profile
  • Professorship: with strengths in internal medicine and surgery for special courses (fourth- and fifth-year students), applying those skills in a hospital setting (the university’s Grumedso Clinic and community Bajio Hospital.)
  • Professorship: in imaging with expertise in the process of disease diagnoses and a good handle on advanced technologies of hospital practice (fourth- and fifth-year students).
  • Epidemiological research: for the application of new techniques and methods in accordance with the norms and practices of the centers of reference of epidemiological research such as the CDC of Atlanta (third- and fourth-year students). 
Language requirement

A knowledge of Spanish is necessary. Language training is provided on the field.

Ministry Description

Bolivian Evangelical University was founded in 1980 by WGM missionary Meredythe Scheflen. It is the first private university in Bolivia and the first evangelical university in Spanish-speaking South America. The main ministry of BEU is to reach the youth of Bolivia for Christ through higher education and to influence Bolivia and other countries through its students and graduates. BEU strives to become a health research center in South America.
