Czech Republic: English Teaching
Opportunities
The Czech Republic has some of the lowest levels of English in all of Europe. However, this will, no doubt, change soon as there is a rapidly growing interest in learning English, and it is even a part of the public school curriculums now. People from various age demographics and walks of life are seeking to learn English or improve their skills.
There are currently some English Conversation outreaches taking place with high school students. Workers trained in TESOL/TESL practices could easily build connections through private tutoring of children, teens, or adults, and through group lessons or activities. Not only does English ministry meet a genuine felt need of the community, but it creates an environment of building relationships, which is the foundation of discipleship and evangelism. We trust that the Spirit is at work to make meaningful connections in order to change lives through his transforming work.
Ministry Description
While the Czech Republic has long had a reputation for being one of the most atheistic countries in Europe and even the world, there is a rapidly growing interest in the spiritual realm and a deeper meaning to life than what we can see and explain. As people young and old are beginning to consider these things, we are finding a big interest and willingness for relationship with Christians and reading the Bible together. As we walk together with new believers, discipling them, we believe God is raising up a Czech body of believers to reach their nation. This country at the heart of Europe has potential to be a bright light for the whole region.
