Czech Republic: Children's Ministry
Opportunities
Our church consists of several elementary and preschool aged children as well as toddlers and babies. Children probably make up about half of our congregation most Sundays. Given that our church has many young families, most of whom are first generation believers, having others to invest in the spiritual growth and development of the children is a huge blessing to our church family.
Outreach to children could also be expanded to include an afterschool kid's club during the week as a way to invest in the community. In the Czech Republic, children are greatly valued. As they reach school age, they are given a lot of independence and responsibilities as parents often have to work during times when children are free. A positive voice speaking into their lives and giving them a constructive place to be would meet a big need in this community, possibly building connections to whole families with whom the light of Christ can shine.
Ministry Description
While the Czech Republic has long had a reputation for being one of the most atheistic countries in Europe and even the world, there is a rapidly growing interest in the spiritual realm and a deeper meaning to life than what we can see and explain. As people young and old are beginning to consider these things, we are finding a big interest and willingness for relationship with Christians and reading the Bible together. As we walk together with new believers, discipling them, we believe God is raising up a Czech body of believers to reach their nation. This country at the heart of Europe has potential to be a bright light for the whole region.
