North America: Urban Farm Manager
Description
Manage an established, two-acre urban farm located in the heart of an immigrant community. A passion for working the ground and structures while building relationships with the surrounding community is more important than experience. Winter months will include farm maintenance and planning for next growing season. Management will also lead local and out-of-state work teams during the growing season.
Opportunity
There will be opportunities to meet and work alongside of those who have vegetable plots as well as coordinating with local leaders for best ways to enhance growing, harvesting and selling practices.
Qualifications
An agriculture degree is not required; however, must have knowledge of planting, tending, harvesting vegetable crops.

Training Provided
There will be assistance with transitioning to responsibilities and getting to know the community.
Language Requirements
Knowing Bengali would be advantageous but is not required.

Ministry Description
This is a two-acre urban farm that is actively involved with the community. This role is an excellent way to build relationships with neighbors and local leaders. From July through October, a vegetable market is held every Saturday on property adjacent to the farm.
